Roberta Flack made I popular in 1972 with a slower version which reached #1 on Billboard that same year.
I Want to Hold Your Hand: Paul McCartney and John Lennon wrote I Want to Hold Your Hand and recorded it in 1963 using for-track equipment, a first for the Beatles. This song was the group's best-selling single worldwide. It had advance orders of more than 1 million copies. It was #1 in the UK for 5 weeks and remained in the top 50 for 21 weeks. It was also the Beatles first #1 in America for 7 weeks.
I Will Always Love You: This country song, written and recorded by Dolly Parton, was intended for Porter Wagoner, Parton's mentor from whom she was professionally splitting. Whitney Houston recorded a version of I Will Always Love You in 1992 for the film The Bodyguard. It was also used as a farewell song at Houston's untimely funeral in February 2012.
Because You Loved Me: Diane Warren wrote this signature Celine Dion song as a tribute to her father. Produced by David Foster, Because You Loved Me was used in the 1996 film Up Close and Personal. It topped American charts for many weeks and is Dion's second number 1 song after the Power of Love. Diane Warren won a Gramy for Best Song a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.
