music.jpgYou've Got A Friend: Written by Carole King, this song appeared on her 1971 album Tapestry. Many other artists have covered this song, the most popular version being by James Taylor. This version won Grammy Awards for both Taylor (Best Male Pop Vocal) and King (Song of the Year). 

music.jpgTime In A Bottle: A posthumous #1 hit for singer-songwriter Jim Croce, Time In A Bottle reached the top of the charts three months after his death in a plane crash (Sept 1973). The song was written for his new son, A.J. Croce.

music.jpgMoon River: Most well-known for being sung by Audrey Hepburn in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's, Moon River was named Best Original Song at the 1961 Academy Awards. Composed by Johnny Mercer and henry Mancini, the song has been covered by many artists including Andy Williams who named his production company Moon River.

music.jpgClose to You: First recorded by Richard Chamberlain in 1963, They Long to be Close to You is a pop song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. In 1965, Dionne Warwick released a version. But in 1970, The Carpenter's breakthrough hit of Close to You won them a 1971 Grammy Award for the Best Pop Performance by a Vocal Duo or a Group.

music.jpgYour Song: A ballad composed and performed by Elton John, Your Song appeared on his self-titled 1970 album. The lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin. Your Song was John's first pop hit. He cites it as one of his favourites.
